One-Point perspective is a type of linear perspective that uses a single vanishing point to create the illusion of depth in an artwork. There are several methods of linear perspective, but one-point which is a single-point perspective is the simplest drawing method.
This drawing method shows how things appear to get smaller as they get further away, converging towards a single ‘vanishing point’ on the horizon line. This way of drawing objects upon a flat piece of two-dimensional drawing surface makes them look three-dimensional and realistic. This will create an illusion of depth on the drawing surface.

The scene is set against a striking backdrop of a vivid sunset, which gracefully blends shades of pink, purple, blue, orange, and yellow, creating a mesmerizing atmosphere. Furthermore, I've depicted the serene water in a deep shade of blue, framing my composition from both the upper and lower edges. This choice not only adds balance and depth to the artwork but also accentuates the reflection of the cityscape in the water, enhancing the overall visual impact.

Size of Artwork: 30 x 21 cm
Artist’s Statement: My teacher showed me how to draw one-point perspective. Thus, I used what I learned to draw a city street with buildings. I left the road clear so that it seems to stretch infinitely towards the horizon. There is a wider field of view, such that it feels like there is more free space as compared to having a building right in front which blocks everything.
