“Manga” or 漫画 refers to comics and graphic novels created in Japan.
Procreate is a raster graphics editor app for digital painting. We introduced Procreate to students to practise tracing and sketching facial features, clothing styles, and other elements characteristic of manga. Students begin their work from an initial concept and take numerous iterations to refine their manga characters. The key is using the character's pose and personal details to tell as much on first glance as possible.

A Collaboration Project with the Alumni Association of Nan Hua to create a digital artwork to be printed on merchandise like mugs or T-shirts. Students are involved in the planning, designing and creation of these products which will be placed on sale on an e-Shop platform.

Paper marbling is an aqueous surface design which produces marble-like patterns by transferring colours floating on water or a viscous solution (known as size) to paper or fabric. Marbling Art is incredibly user-friendly. No art experience is required; all you need is a sense of adventure. Every piece is unique, and as individual and specific in that very moment. It is a free and forgiving art form which allows you to experiment with new colours, patterns, designs and directions.
