This term the children have learnt to recognise that different devices can be used to capture photographs and have gained experience capturing, editing, and improving photos. Finally, they have used this knowledge to recognise that images they see may not be real.
In this lesson, we were introduced to the concept that many devices can be used to take photographs. We then began to capture our own photographs with our groups using iPads.
We made predications about whether photos would look better in landscape or portrait. We then worked in our groups to check if our predications were correct by taking photos of these items.
We learnt that a photograph is composed by a photographer. In this lesson, learners discovered what constitutes good photography composition and put this into practice by composing and capturing photos of their own.
We took photos of our display boards, pencil trays, selfies and group photos.
In this lesson, we investigated the effects that good lighting have on the quality of the photos we took, and explored what effects using the camera flash and adding an artificial light source have on our photos.
Using our worksheets, we took photos of the same objects in different lighting.
We then analysed and identified which images produced better quality photos.
On Internet Safety Day, we watched the 'Safer Internet Day 2022 live lesson' video on how to safe when using our devices.
Together, we agreed on a class pledge to ensure we stay safe online.
We then created posters on how to keep safe!
