This term the children have learnt to recognise that different devices can be used to capture photographs and have gained experience capturing, editing, and improving photos. Finally, they have used this knowledge to recognise that images they see may not be real.
To begin with, in this lesson the children were given various images and had to decide if these devices could take photos. The children learned about the importance of asking permission before taking a photo of anyone. Then they had lots of fun exploring the camera on the iPad and loved taking a variety of shots from selfies, to close up and then distant shots.
In this lesson the children were introduced to the concept that a photograph can be taken in either portrait or landscape format. The children explored taking photographs in both portrait and landscape formats and explored the reasons why a photographer may favour one over the other.
In this lesson the children explored what makes a good photograph. They looked at composing a photograph by looking at the positioning, framing and detailing to include in a photograph. The children were set the task of taking a good photograph and were reminded of the importance of composing a good photograph. Once they took their 3 photos , they evaluated their photographs and had the opportunity to re-take one of their shots again.
The morning started off with the whole class watching and participating in an assembly via the internet on the IWB. They learned about the imprtance of staying safe online and what they can do to stay safe. The children made their E-Safety posters containing messages of how to stay safe online. As a class, the children then agreed on a set of Online Safety Tips, which they then signed. This is proudly displayed in our classroom.
