Is it Technology?
Waxwing class has been finding out what technology is.
It is something that has been made by people to help other people.
Waxwing class was given images of various objects. After a discussion, the children had to decide whether the images were a type of technology or not and the reason why?

Abdullah - "A sharpener is technology because someone made it for us to make pencils sharp."
Aymira - "Glue is technology, you can buy it at the shop and use it to stick paper."
Aaisha - "Not all technology can be plugged in but computers and mobile phones are."

Waxwing watched an online Internet safety assembly on BBC Teach and then completed an activity sheet on the IWB. Yesterday we talked about Digiduck and what he says about being safe online.
The children filled hearts with drawings of themselves, their friends, parents/carers and teachers. They thought about how they could be kind and respectful to everyone online and around them.

We finished off by signing a class pledge to help us remember how to stay safe online and 'Think Then Click.'

Always tell an adult if you see something unpleasant online.
Only click on a website/link if you know what it is.
Only go online with an adult/parent present.
