Nowadays, I notice that many people listen to music. From everything I see that has happened during my younger age, there weren't that many people who rely on music to calm their thoughts down. I remember the first day; I was asking so many people from where do they listen to music. At that time, I wasn't socializing with a bunch of people, so I struggled a lot. I thought maybe if I listen to music, it can increase the confidence inside me that could be life-changing. So I did. Since then, I have slowly been able to feel confident around the people who also have the same reason to stay in school. The mission has been achieved!
Throughout the time after I had my confidence ready, I was interested in painting and drawing but more to the picture. At first, when I see other individual's artwork, it is amicable, and it's deemed as a well-done. I gave it a try! It was a good start of my journey to being an expert on drawing. From there, I started to take art classes more than music classes. The reason I chose the art class is because I am more terrible than the first time I experienced making music, but I like listening to them. Drawing activities that repeatedly appeared so many times in the art classes have developed better throughout the time.
For this year's first personal project, I wanted to try something new. I decided to make a series of art pieces that reveals the character of music in art. My goal for this project was to research popular music artwork, then create my own series of art pieces that showcasing the influence of music on art. Having only attended more than a year of art classes, my skills regarding art skills have improved so much. I could not write an appealing and trustworthy work without primary research from good reliable sources. The project itself is challenging, as I was aiming to show the best outcome not only the skills that I already have for this project but also relevant for the future artworks that I had yet to acquire. Therefore, it's like an exercise for me. Furthermore, I had to prove my hard work and the artwork appealing to the target audience. This required sketches/drafts so I could visualize what the final picture is, and it's easier for myself to work on because I have something that I can rely upon getting.
The global context of my project occupies the most is Identities & Relationships and Personal and Cultural Expression because the goal isn't just about improvement. It requires the development in both physical and mental health of an individual as well as how he/she interacts with people who are "artists''. Learning how to showcase something that you love in the form of a picture could make a difference in one's ideas, feeling, nature, culture, beliefs and values are the ways that we all reflect on and enjoy our appreciation of aesthetics. It applies to future artists, whom I hope would get inspiration from my work, and myself, as I proceed to continue my research on this topic.
My final product was an art piece showcasing the influence of music in art. The base of the product was bought in the stationary store together with the materials for the product. At first, I sketched out what the design will be in a sketchbook. The idea of the drawing was simple but it gives a strong explanation in the background. Then I proceed to draw it on a canvas. Once I’m done drawing it, I start to paint the area that is easy because it won’t take a lot of time. The hard ones will be the last.
The canva size will be small - medium size. The product painting will be any colored paint being splattered everywhere and the lyrics will be written at the edge of the canva. The meaning of this painting could mean a lot of things. In this case, this splattered art means how I feel about the problems that I have and how it frustrates me in any way. It could mean that I'm sad, mad, angry or any emotion that I feel. Sometimes I feel very emotional when I listen to music as well.
