My learning goal for this project is to practice my artistic skills, particularly in accelerating the speed at which I draw in a certain timeframe and diversify the conceptual range of what I draw.
I hoped that with my learning goal I would be able to accelerate my speed in drawing and diversify the conceptual range of what I draw, hence why I (with additional help) decided to create a concept fantasy sketchbook containing different characters created by myself and information or art regarding a world I would be developing.
When I initially started my product, I had taken a number of things a bit too lightly, therefore, underestimated the consequences of my frequent lack of motivation to complete certain parts of my project. I came to realize that the task wasn’t as easy as I had thought it to be despite my years of experience with both of the main combining factors in my product. I had discovered that there was a lot to be considered in certain aspects like character designing and while I had known a fair number of tips prior to the research I had done in this project, there were also a surprising number of things in the information I had learnt and read about that I hadn’t ever utilized that were rather crucial.
My evaluation of my final product is that most of the success criteria were able to be met successfully. However, there are still a number of areas I need to improve on and diligently spend my time on so I can achieve better results. With this experience, I feel reassured that I do have the potential to do better and I know I can do better now with all the extensive research and practice I’ve done. Yet, needless to say, I can’t lie and think I’m completely happy with my product. There are a lot of things I could’ve done better and, in the end, the result was just extremely mediocre. Still, I am glad for this experience and it was able to teach me valuable tips and tricks that I will be sure to utilize in the future for my own personal benefit.
