Ever since I was little, I always wanted to build my own PC for the experience, as well as to be able to play high-end and high-performance games in somewhat smooth quality, 60 frames per second, and 720p. So, when we had to think about what our Personal Project had to be, building a PC was the only reasonable choice to me. If you know me, my passion for games and other hobbies of mine, such as making music, editing videos, and others, I take them seriously and passionately. I believe that the uses for having a PC can not only help me in terms of playing games that I’m not able to run better on my laptop, but as well as making music, editing videos, and other hobbies of mine much better than what I can do on my laptop. This was something I have always wanted to do in my life, but never had the right opportunity to do so until now.
The product that I hope to create successfully will be a high-performance PC. For as long as I’ve lived my life, I’ve never properly known how PC tech works; as many of my friends do. I want to be invested in the world of PC tech by building a PC myself, as I believe that the learning of a PC’s inner workings will be very important in the future. The PC will be personalized to my liking and will hopefully be able to suit my needs and hobbies.
I would say that the completion of this project completed my learning goal. I was able to build a PC with the notes I took as well as help from the video tutorials I watched. The actual performance of the PC itself is actually pretty good. 16GB of RAM coupled with an RX 550 GPU, 75hz monitor, 1TB of HDD storage make a good group of PC components that are able to play a selection of games that I play, and it leaves enough room for possible future upgrades to increase its performance and specifications. Although there are a few things that I would like to change, I can say that I am satisfied with my end product.
I would definitely say that the completion of my product was an experience that I will most definitely remember, as I see myself using the skills I’ve learned in the new future. Booting up my PC and installing everything to personalize my PC’s software and apps was very satisfying, including the fact that I built the PC myself gave me some sort of sense of attachment towards it. The process of building the actual PC itself took me a total of three hours, as well as an hour of cable-management half-heartedly. For building a PC for the first time, I believe that I did a great job. However, I did find a few flaws with my product after finishing it. By looking at my PC through the point of view of someone Andre 9 with little knowledge and experience of PC building and components, the RGB (Red, blue green) lights are definitely the highlight of my PC in terms of aesthetics.
The problems that they have listed in their feedback were mostly about the cable management, which was a problem I had encountered during the process of building the PC’s. However, the response I had gotten from discord user ‘dog’ had a very in-depth discussion about the parts I’ve used as well as how I could’ve improved everything. That will be a piece of feedback that I will take into consideration the next time I ever build a PC.
