The Powderpuff game is a game played during Homecoming week, Thursday, September 21, 2023, in order to raise school spirit. The game was highly anticipated and ended with the seniors winning! It is a football game in which the boys and girls switch roles.
The girls play football with boys coaching them and some boys cheer for the girls playing, coached by girls. It took place this year right after the homecoming parade, giving the community something new and exciting to watch and enjoy. The senior girls played against the junior girls, and various spectators cheered on their peers.
Swarm leader and homecoming court member, Kennedy Crean, said, “We are doing Powderpuff to start a new tradition with Link Crew’s name behind it, and to raise money for Link Crew.”
Another Link Crew member and student athlete, Marissa Sladky, added that “a lot of other schools have it and a lot of people brought it up to student council.” This was a great chance for the students to have fun and show their school spirit.
