The MITT programme has been written following consultation with Nottingham University and the Department of Education’s teaching standards. The programme requires trainees to complete two teaching placements and produce a folio of evidence for all teaching standards from a range of sources. During each placement, trainees follow a rigorous structure which requires them to produce detailed lesson plans, have regular observations, and attend weekly professional development workshops. Alongside the MITT programme, trainees complete an on line Master's level PGCEi course with Nottingham University. The combination of the theoretical PGCEi element and vocational MITT programme has already been proven to enhance the international employment opportunities of Markham trainees.
Those wishing to find out more information about the PGCEi should look at the Nottingham University website or speak to Nathan Eades.
