3Beech   Learning Update

Central idea: Expression can be influenced by our values.

Congratulations to Amelia for being awarded a rosette for her incredible jumping skills on her pony.

The Dragon Who Ate our School.MOV

3 Beech have really been expressing their creativity over the last two weeks.  We have had lots of fun unpicking the features of narrative poems - looking at different examples, and even performing one of our favourites,  'The Dragon Who Ate Our School'.  We are excited about publishing our own rhyming narrative poem for display in our class.

We have been inquiring into how values are expressed through different cultures and have enjoyed experimenting with clay and making pots inspired by Cypriot Bichrome ware, as well as researching appliqué methods and making beads.  We have certainly been challenged to use our fine motor skills and to persevere when it is tricky!

In maths, we have been learning about equal groups, using arrays, finding multiples and exploring division through grouping and sharing.  It has helped to learn some of the multiplication and division facts by heart through song and rhyme, as well as using counters and pictures to help represent our problems.  Please continue practising the 2, 3, 5, and 10 times tables at home.

We are looking forward to welcoming parents to our art exhibition on Wednesday afternoon (2.45-3.15), we hope you can make it!

Please support your child to practise their recorder in preparation for our KS2 concert at the church next Thursday.  You will find the music and tutorial videos on Google Classroom.
