5Aspen Learning Update

Central idea: Roles and responsibilities lead to successful leadership.

What an exciting couple of weeks we have had in 5 Aspen! 

Our inquiry journey has continued so that we have considered the effect leaders have on society! Our particular focus was on the environmental change brought about through leaders actions and decisions. By exploring Marden and Maidstone maps from the 1890s and today, we were able to see how much urban expansion there has been in the last century, and therefore consider the amount of green space we have lost as a result. We then have applied our understanding of this impact by writing in first person as elements of nature, showing how they would feel and react in seeing their homes destroyed through the actions of leaders.

In addition to this learning, we have also enjoyed showing our responsibilities as leaders thorough supporting in a community litter pick (please see more information here), as well as organising our end of term disco for the other children in the school!
