4Chestnut Learning Update

Central idea: Transportation systems can be developed to support the needs of a community.

This week in inquiry, we were very concerned to receive a letter from the council about an access road being built on the school field. We have planned and written responses in order to persuade the council that this was not a good idea. After we moved on from the idea of suing the council, we generated some excellent ideas as to why the field was a valuable resource to the school and the children.

In Science we have been investigating circuits and whether circuits built in a different way would work or not. We then moved onto looking at switches and how they work. We were then challenged to build our own switches in order to make a working circuit.

In Reading Comprehension we have started our new book 'Future Friend' by David Baddiel and are thoroughly enjoying comparing how our lives were in 2020 to how life in 3020 is in the book.
