1Spruce Learning Update

Central idea: People need specific skills and qualities to do different jobs.

As part of our first line of inquiry, we enjoyed our trip around the village spotting different places of work such as the shops, restaurants and the bakers. This inspired creating a leaflet on the different jobs found in Marden and the children deciding what they want to be when they are older. This has led into our second line of inquiry which is researching further into other careers looking into different types of knowledge and skills that are required.

In Reading Rainbows, we have been reading about King Charles ready for the Coronation. We have learnt many new facts about his life as a young prince and have expanded our vocabulary using words such as chronological order, timeline and monarchy. We learnt about royal traditions and what will happen during the ceremony. In addition, we learn key facts about the king such as did you know new post boxes will have the letters "C" and "R" which stand for Charles and Rex (which is king in Latin!)
