Juniper Learning Update

Central idea:

The first line of inquiry this module is: an inquiry into what we see, hear and feel whilst outside. Our focus text is 'Finding WIld' by Megan Wagner Lloyd. Team Juniper has enjoyed exploring our school area thinking about the different things that we can see, hear and feel then drawing and writing about them. Lots of our conversations involved different leaves, trees and plants which led us to go on a leaf hunt - to see how many different types of leaves that we could find. Ozzy: "I found a oak leaf." Albie: " The wind helps the leaves fall off the trees." This got even more exciting on the frosty days as we found our environment looked different than it did before. Esme: "It looks beautiful." Isaac: "If the sun comes out it will melt away the ice." We have begun map making to plot out where we found each leaf in school. This module the children have all started their own sketch books and each have taken pride in using different artistic forms to recreate the things we could see outdoors.

If any other parents/grandparents/carers would like to come and read a story to juniper class, please speak with Miss Williams or myself to arrange a date. The children have thoroughly enjoyed having our mystery visitors. A huge thank you to those of you who have kindly taken the time to read to us! :)

I hope you all have a great weekend!
