2Maple Learning Update

Central idea: Natural disasters impact living things and their environment

Our inquiry has begun with exploring the different natural disasters and children are now producing their own illustrated lift-the-flap fold out books. As you can see, we have loved using watercolour paint to create individual tableaus of floods and drought. We can't wait to see them finished! Our science has blended this knowledge with an inquiry into living things and their habitats.

In maths, children have really enjoyed getting to grips with the value of money - counting, choosing and comparing amounts of pennies and pounds, as well as solving problems involving spending money and finding change. Please engage your child in counting small change at home and when you look at price tickets in the shops.

In outdoor learning we have looked at how wildfires spread. We have also investigated the various habitats we have around our school. Please make sure children have appropriate shoes/wellies, a change of clothes and a warm coat in school each Friday.

PE is now on a Wednesday morning, it is important that every child has their full PE kit in school every week.
