It was a beautiful sunny (albeit freezing) day for our local trip this week. After looking at OS maps back at school, we used our map reading skills and our new knowledge of GPS symbols to navigate our way around Staplehurst. We caught the train and after a speedy three-minute journey one stop up the track, we walked through the village, spotting the landmarks that we had looked at on the map. While we were there, we popped into All Saints' Church and looked at the similarities and differences compared to Marden Church. We also had a stop at the library to warm up with a book. Our trip ended with a quick trip to the park which was very icy but lots of fun. We definitely got lots of steps in!
