Juniper Learning Update

Central idea: People communicate to share knowledge and experiences.

Frederick has had such a warm welcome by the caring children in Team Juniper! Freya has worked hard trying to teach Frederick our phonics sounds so that he too, can learn to read. The children enjoy reading to Frederick in phonics daily while he sits in the circle with us. Given how knowledgeable the children are, we have been using our tricky words and our phonic knowledge to write sentences together. Oliver used the tricky words 'I' and 'like' and stretched and wrote 'ice cream cake'.

When discussing what makes us happy, it was clear that lots of children were excited about Christmas! When asked what the best part of Christmas is the children were quick to respond. Jamie: "the best part is the snacks", Archie: "I love the grinch film", Chloe: "the tree", Flora "the lights". Following this discussion, the children were delighted to see a special delivery arrive in our classroom... Our very own Christmas tree! We have been planning how best to decorate it.

I hope you all have a great weekend!
