In English, we have have been throughly enjoying reading 'The wolves in the Walls' by Neil Gaiman. We had an experience day today, and tried to imagine being frightened in bed on a noisy night. We made sure we had a comfort toy or blanket toy to help us through it! The classroom was darkened and we listened to atmospheric music/sounds to help us think about how how our bodies responds might respond when we are frightened.

In Science, we have begun the new topic of 'Light' Today we sorted pictures into light sources and not light sources and discussed with reasoning.  We then had a dark box  with objects in. We had to guess what was in the box when looking through the viewing hole. We repeated this with light. We found out that it was easier to see things with light and that dark is the absence of light.

In Art, we have been looking at shading and texture to draw Victorian objects. We selected part of the object by looking through the view finder. We used a range of graded pencils to draw our pieces of art.

28th February 2022

In Science, we have been looking at shadows. We learnt that you need to block the light source to create a shadow.

28th February 2022

In Art, we have been looking at shading and texture to draw parts of our Victorian school building. We selected part of the building  and drew this using a range of graded pencils

During Science, we focussed on GROWTH. Our main focus was creating an environmental healthy burger thinking about the where and how far the produce for the burger came from. We also made slime with the Year 2's and compared which slime stretched the furthest- Either cold or warm. We enjoyed showcasing what we had learned during Science week!

21st March 2022

During Science, we used torches to observe how light passes through different types of materials. We used opaque, transparent and translucent. We compared the darkness of the shadow and order them from lightest to darkest.

28th March 2022

During Science, we looked at shining the light at varying angles to see what effects it has on the length of the object's shadow.
