Autumn term 1 Showcase

Autumn 1 Learning

Here We Are

For the past two weeks we’ve been exploring the fantastic Oliver Jeffers book, ‘Here We Are’.

We’ve learnt about a whole range of things, from discovering how our solar system revolves around the sun (and acting it out in the playground) to learning about the importance of caring for our planet and animals - did you know that the fantastic Orangutan is an endangered species? Well we do, and we made leaflets to inform you all about the dangers they’re facing. Save the Orangutan! (Can you tell we fell head over heels in love as a class with these furry creatures?)

One of our favourite activities though had to be exploring the great outdoors and the changes happening around us as part of Autumn. Out in the playground, Ms Veryard gave us all a strange, spiky green object. Was it a hedgehog? Part of a tree? An alien? Nope, it was the outside of a conker shell! Next stop, time to take a look at the conkers themselves. You can see from the pictures below that we enjoyed ourselves!
