2024 marks the 33rd Summer Olympics, with 10,500 athletes taking the Olympic stage in Paris. Notable names donning the red and white include Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who recently won the Lionel Conacher Award, which recognizes the Canadian Press Male Athlete of the Year.
With Gilgeous-Alexander being the most famous name for Canada, up-and-coming athletes include Leylah Fernandez. Leylah Fernandez kicked off her winning ways with Canada stunning a top-10 rated player in the Billie Jean King Cup. She later won a WTA title in 2021.
Other Canadian Olympians that are promising choices to bring medals back home, include Brian Yang (Badminton), Ethan Katzberg (Track), and Summer McIntosh (Swimming). Thus far, the experts have Canada winning 22 medals, including 6 golds.

The Paris 2024 Olympics will be the biggest event ever organized in France. The Olympic games will take place between July 26 and August 11, 2024. Around 10,500 athletes from 206 different countries will be competing in the 329 games of 32 different sports. 15 million visitors are expected in Paris for the games.
The United States is predicted to win the most medals overall in the 2024 Paris Olympics. The sports debuting in the 2024 Paris Olympics include breaking, sport climbing, skateboarding and surfing. With these new inclusions, other games are being removed. These include karate, softball and baseball.
The symbol for the 2024 Paris Olympics combines three separate symbols: the gold medal, a flame and Marianne. These personify the ideas and values of the Olympics. The mascot for the 2024 Paris Olympics is the Olympic Phryge. It is based on traditional small Phrygian hats. The design is meant to symbolize freedom and allegorical figures of the French republic.
