Mattia Castrillo Day in the Life

5:45 AM - My alarm rings. Today’s another early call-time. I slump off my bed, wash my face, and brush my teeth. I get dressed, grab my backpack, and head out the door to the car.
6:00 AM - I check the GPS. The estimated time it will take me to get to the trailer park is around 40 minutes. I fall asleep as our car zooms through the nearly-empty streets.
6:45 AM - Upon arriving on set, I get introduced to the trailer, settle down for a bit, then go to the breakfast trailer to get some food. I have around 15 minutes to eat and get dressed into my wardrobe clothing before heading over to the hair and makeup trailer.
7:05 AM - I arrive at the hair and makeup trailer. Tons of product is put in my hair, and my subtle makeup is done. I grab my essentials from my trailer and get into a shuttle to drive to set. Today, we’re filming deep in a forest in Coquitlam. We hop on a small buggy to take us up a small path in the woods that leads us to set.
7:45 AM - After arriving on set and rehearsing the scene, we begin to shoot it. The director yells “ACTION!”, and we do the scene. After doing it about 10-15 times, we get a small break as the crew sets up new camera angles. We do the scene again another 10-15 times. This process can repeat itself many times, but luckily for us, we only had to change angles another 5 times. We wrapped the scene at around 1 PM, and it was officially lunch time.
1:15 AM - We were driven back to my trailer, where we received our food and ate. We sat in our trailer for another hour, as they had another scene to film before I needed to go back to set. I took a nap, ate some snacks, and watched TV.
2:30 PM - We jump right into the next scene upon arriving on set. This is a quick one, and after a few turn-arounds, we are able to wrap it in 2 hours.
4:45 PM - After saying goodbye to the Director, my fellow cast members, and the rest of the crew, we make our way to the shuttle which takes us back to our trailer. We gather our belongings and make our way to another shuttle - one that takes us home.
5:45 PM - After an hour-long drive, we arrive back home. Today has been a long day, but a good one. I check tomorrow’s callsheet, and see that my tentative call time is 12:05 PM; I can sleep in tomorrow.
10:30 PM - After eating dinner and catching up on my homework, I get ready for bed. I practice my lines for the next day, and after feeling confident with them, I begin to doze off. Today has finished, but tomorrow will be a new day filled with even cooler scenes and more experiences to further my career!
