Prototype 1:

Education

Why Offer Education?

It's important to educate people about surface water runoff and flooding because they can affect surrounding water systems. Pesticides, herbicides, sediments, and other pollutants can enter a water system from runoff from crops and then flow to ditches or surrounding water bodies. This can lead to problems with water quality and can affect the plants and animals as well.

Poster at the Sustainable Agriculture Project

This poster will be at the entrance, near the rain garden, near the crop beds, or other places at the SAP for visitors to read. This will help them understand what is being done at the SAP to help with surface runoff and flooding. This poster provides enough information so everyone can understand what measures are being taken to reduce these problems.

Poster on Campus

This poster will be posted throughout the Grand Valley campus that is easily visible to students. The goal is to have a simple flyer that can quickly be read with enough information to get straight to the point. If more students are interested in sustainability, the environment, planning, and other similar interests, this flyer can guide them to how they can get more involved.
