Students will learn about how science can inspire our artwork by studying microbial bacteria and then we will look at the artwork of Tal Danino to see how he appreciates the artistry of Microbial Colonies and Klari Reis who creates beautiful works of
Students will research microbial bacteria and post 6 photos for inspiration in the following Slide Show:
Students will watch the following video on alcohol ink techniques and begin practicing making 4 different design sheets.
Students will then use a compass to draw 6 circles over their design sheets to create "Microbial Petri Dishes".
Students will then use illustration pens to create unique designs inside of their petri dish designs.
Students will then use a compass to create black circles larger than their petri dish designs. These will become the vessels for their designs. We will use white colored pencil to draw out our petri dish and then glue our designs to our petri dishes.
Students will then glue their 6 designs to 6 white paper squares that will then be glued to black paper.
