Students will begin to gather the parts of their collage:
Body Parts from Magazines
Fabric swatches or construction paper for their clothing
Students will choose 50% of the body parts they collected to be actual collage pieces that are glued into place and the other 50% will be value drawings.
Students may begin composing their figures. It will be necessary to trace their designs onto their paper; omitting some areas so that they may be drawn in.
Students will use exacto blades or scissors to cut their clothing from their fabric or construction paper.
Students will use a wide range of values to achieve high quality drawings that match the values seen in their magazine cutouts so that they seem to be a unified piece.
After students have finished drawing and collaging magazine parts they may now paste their clothing and add any details that convey their social cause theme.
