Outstanding Student work

Students have been working incredibly hard this half term, preparing for their GCSEs and developing their literacy skills.

Year 11 English Revision

Year 11 have been getting ready for their Literature exams, focussing on how the characters are portrayed in An Inspector Calls, Macbeth and Jekyll and Hyde. Students in Ms George's class rose to the challenge and focussed on their 3 key assessment objectives.

Seeing students take such pride in their revision is amazing and showcases the hard work they have put in all year - good luck with your exams Year 11!

Student activists

Year 9 students have been researching the treatment of Orcas in captivity following the controversial documentary 'Black fish' that focuses on Sea world.

Students prepared group presentations and written speeches discussing the ethics of animal welfare.

It is amazing to see our students' communication skills and persuasive writing develop with topics they are passionate about.

Drama work

Students have been working hard in drama learning their lines for their play 'The Gate Escape.'

The play is about how truancy negatively affects school performance and the importance of 100% attendance and education.

whole class reading

Year 8 have been enjoying their Class Reader of 'Killing Honour' by Bali Rai that they read every week in the library.

This week they enjoyed getting out in the sunshine to finish their book together.

At LBS we love to read, and it's even better outside in the sun!

Year 9 Presentations

Year 9 Students have been working hard on their Speaking and Listening presentations this half term. They have chosen a topic and worked independently on preparing for their assessments.

Students have showcased key literacy skills in oracy and communication as they work towards not only their GCSE Speaking Exam in Year 10, but also important Skills for Life.

Check out our 'Lordswood Publishing House' section to read some of their work!

We can't wait to see all the amazing work from students in the next half term!
