During May, Lordswood took part in a national creative writing competition. It was hosted by Young Writers, a company that aims to encourage children to write for pleasure. Students at LBS had to write 100-word stories with the theme: "Unsolved". All entries from Lordswood have been submitted to Young Writers, with the national winner to be announced in Summer Term 2021. In the meantime, the Library team picked a Lordswood winner from many deserving entries.

"There he lay within the shed. His harrowing blood spread across the hard, grazed wood. A deadly, bloodstained gun lay next to him, a gun owned by the venomous, toxic murderer. Who was this ferocious killer though? The police searched frantically from house to house to find the murderer...
Eventually, they reached a man who made suspicion and curiosity creep up and surround the police officers… They tried DNA fingerprinting on him. His hand matched the prints on the gun. A shiver ran down his spine. He forgot to wear gloves while he murdered the man. They found the guilty person..."
