The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon
This book tells the story of Christopher Boone, a young boy living with Asperger's syndrome. One day, he stumbles across his neighbour's dog, who has been killed using a pitchfork. What ensues is an unlikely murder mystery, with many twists and turns along the way. Ultimately, Christopher must discover who committed this terrible crime, but to do so he must also come to terms with some painful truths about himself and those closest to him.
What did the Year 8s get up to?
The Year 8s were incredibly busy this week, with lots of fun and exciting activities to keep them entertained. The students became detectives for the morning to solve an escape room, put their art skills to the test with some lovely mood boards, found their inner thespian with a fantastic drama activity, increased their autism awareness by examining common misconceptions about the disorder, and watched the National Theatre stage production of the book. All in all, a very productive week indeed!
Mood Boards
What do Christopher's emotions look like when articulated through art? Here are some of the Year 8's lovely attempts to capture the character's feelings through colour.
