As you might have heard, the Phillies recently drafted three players for the 2023 season.
The first and biggest of the contracts is a 11 year 330 million dollar contract to Trea Turner, the 29 year old shortstop that played for the LA Dodgers last season. It is a possibility that he might replace kyle schwarber as the lead off hitter. Next off we signed the lefty reliever Matt Strahm, for a two year contract for 15 million dollars. Last year he played for the boston red sox and had an ERA of 3.31. Lastly we signed a 4 year contract for 72 million to the right handed starting pitcher Taijuan Walker, who formerly played for the mets and had a ERA of 3.49.
Even though we gained 3 great players we have lost many key players in our bullpen David Robertson, Corey Knebel and Zach Eflin were all lost to free agency. We can only hope that we can make it to the world series this year and win.
