Ms.Peterson Interview
By Harley Wolfgang
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Two things: one, developing strong connections with my students. And two, inspiring a love of science in students.
Do you know every teacher in every room?
I do know all of the teachers throughout the building and am working hard to build relationships with them, especially with teachers that I haven’t worked with before. We have an amazing staff and I feel incredibly lucky to work with such compassionate and dedicated people.
When you were in middle school, what was the hardest and easiest subject for you?
The hardest subject for me was social studies. The easiest was either science or math.
What inspired you to become a teacher?
I played basketball in college and had a biology major. Being a coach and teaching them basketball showed me that I loved hanging out with kids. I was considering going to med school but, I loved teaching kids so I became a science teacher
What is the most embarrassing thing that happened to you in middle school?
One day in 7th grade I was holding a lot of books in my arms and I thought I was late to class so I was rushing and I tripped. The hallway was crowded and I scraped against the floor. All my stuff was everywhere and everyone was staring at me.
What grade was your favorite?
12th grade, because I played sports senior year and they were strong sports because we were older and our basketball team had an undefeated season. I also ran track. Both teams made it to states. There was lots of partying and it was sad to leave high school but happy to go to college.
