Are you a Star Wars fan? If you are, you know about when Han Solo gets frozen in carbonite in The Empire Strikes Back. Two bakers in San Francisco named Hannalee Pervan and her mother, Catherine Pervan are co-owners of a bakery there. The two of them spent weeks making, baking, sculpting, and assembling a six foot sculpture of Han Solo frozen in carbonite out of bread. They call it Pan Solo. They used a certain type of yeastless dough that will last longer. Hannalee said this was super meaningful to her because she lost most of her smell and taste due to covid, so finding herself in another part of food was really important. The sculpture is now located a bit outside of the bakery.
