Have this ever occurred to you when you open up Youtube and see an advertisement of Grammarly. Over time, Grammarly has attracted a lot of hate over the past. People criticized Grammarly, some dislike Grammarly’s ads; some argued that you should learn the grammar yourself instead of using a software to correct you; while others argued that Grammarly have correction errors when it corrects your essay.

However, we need to look at things objectively. Although the defects mentioned above, Grammarly do have a lot of advantages.

First, Grammarly is powered by artificial intelligence. Which means that it usually has higher accuracies than humans. It is a type of machine learning neural network, which means it can be improved, even if it have cause errors now—as some people argued—it can be still useful and more efficient than humans and maybe, in the future when Grammarly improve, maybe it will not make as much mistakes as it did now.

Secondly, Grammarly is useful for people who learn English as a foreign language. As for me, my first language is not English and I can understand how useful it can be for language learners.

Finally, Grammarly is helpful when a teacher is not around. Surely, it will be best if you can have an English teacher to edit your article, but what if you don’t? Well, that is when Grammarly came into use. Grammarly can be used in a situation when you have to do something really quickly and you don’t have time for other people to look at your essay.

Does Grammarly have flaws? Yes! But does Grammarly have advantages? The answer is also positive. It really depends on what you think.
