5th Grade Front Desk Projects

5th Grade classes have created projects based on the book Front Desk by Kelly Yang over the first semester. Front Desk is based on the true story of Yang’s childhood.

The project was to create a motel with amenities. Then groups had to write about the overall theme of Front Desk and the amenities in their motel. As well as doing this writing portion of the project, groups connected Front Desk to their projects.

The second book of The Front Desk Series is Three Keys that goes on to Room to Dream, and Key Player. Yang has also written Yes We Will, New from Here, and Finally Seen if you are looking for books from this author.
