With the MLB preseason starting up in february, and this season will be very different, all because of some new rules. You see the MLB wants to shorten game times because they are afraid that fans that are not hardcore don't want to watch as much baseball, so their solution is Pich Clocks. The rule says that if there are no runners on base then once the pitcher gets the ball they have 15 seconds to throw the ball, if there are runners on base you get 20 seconds. That is just one of the many new things, Here is another. You know how you sometimes see baseball players on defense shift very far from the base (sometimes a 3rd baseman would go to 1st) Well no more with another rule you now cant do this, well sorta you can still shift but only after the pitcher has thrown the ball. For both of these rules the penalty is a ball added to the pitch count. Lastly not a rule but it has to do with the bases. The bases will now be 18 inches instead of 15 inches. Some people might think these rules are unfair but we will just have to wait and see. Will they improve the chances of the phillies? We will find out.
