LFSMUN is part of a wider system within the LFS to encourage MUN activities: it is neither the first nor the last activity of our school's engagement in English-speaking and diplomatic activities.
Following the model of the previous LFSMUN conferences, LFS students Erika Nannette (Terminale, as of then), Bastien Lemaitre (Terminale, as of then), Jio Yoon (Premiere, as of then) and LIX student Sarah Lee (Premiere, as of then) organized yet another successful conference by ensuring the smooth running of committee debates.
With the structured guidance of the Chairs, Delegates engaged in fruitful discussions on key issues shaping today’s complex geopolitical world. This iteration welcomed 90 students to collaborate and share ideas with the common goal of working together towards a better future.
LFSMUN III provided additional guidance to Chairs and Delegates, marking an important step in the development of the conference for the years to come.
Building on the enthusiasm of previous years, the LFS Delegation traveled once again to Singapore in March 2025 to take part in SIMUN XX.
Guided by MUN Directors Mr. Xavier and Ms. Amach, 8 Delegates proudly represented the school, further affirming LFS’s active engagement in international MUN conferences.
In April 2024, the second edition of the newly renamed LFSMUN took place at the LFS. Drawing from the experiences of 2023 and with growing ambitions, the project gathered 89 students to discuss and debate on challenges faced in our modern world. Led by LFS students Jae-In Lee (Terminale, as of then) and Bastien Lemaitre (Première, as of then) and LIX student Minha Sophie Lee (Terminale, as of then), the conference stood as a learning experience for Delegates and Chairs throughout two days of exchange, negotiation and learning.
LFSMUN II illustrated the growing ambitions and larger potential of this project !
Inspired by their SIMUN experience, LFS students Romain-Sanvine Park (Terminale, as of then) and Jae-In Lee (Première, as of then) organized a MUN conference at the LFS under the supervision of Ms. Amach. This one-day conference in April 2023 successfully gathered approximately 50 participants from 6 international schools as they debated on resolutions in each of 4 distinct Committees. This larger, long planned project sought to motivate reflections on global challenges faced by our modern world as Delegates and Chairs alike developed debating skills and new perspectives.
MUNLFS 2023 served as the successful beginning to a new, ambitious project at the LFS !
Succeeding to the participation and success of the LFS Delegation at SIMUN XVIII, MUN Directors Mr. Xavier and Ms. Amach led a new Delegation to Singapore for SIMUN XIX with 20 Delegates in February 2024.
SIMUN XIX continued the strong commitment to MUN activities at the LFS !
Following the success of the SIMUN XVII experience, Directors Mr. Xavier and Ms. Amach prepared a new LFS Delegation for SIMUN XVIII, with deeper preparation and more participants. In February 2023, 21 Delegates and a Deputy Chair embarked for a trip to Singapore where they attended the three-day in-person conference held at the IFS. Meeting students from schools in Singapore, Cambodia and Malaysia, they observed and shared an impressive conference where they engaged with their Committees. This served as an opportunity to acquire and use new skills, but also to get a better sense of what it means to collaborate with diverse Delegates.
SIMUN XVIII brought a renewed appreciation for MUN, inspiring MUNLFS and showing what is possible !
Kudos, the English-language debating club of the LFS, organized a Model United Nations project in June 2022 under the leadership of Michelle Park (Seconde, as of then). Kudos MUN was the first MUN conference held at the LFS, with participants from the Lycée International Xavier (LIX) joining in on the experience. Members of Kudos and the Delegates from LIX enjoyed this one-day conference thoroughly, as Delegates and Chairs successively went through three Committees (the Security Council, World Health Organization and Human Rights Council) and experienced what it meant to participate in MUN.
Kudos MUN showed to all that hosting a MUN conference in the LFS is possible, even in times of COVID !
Model United Nations was brought to the LFS for the first time in 2022, with high school American International Section students being given the opportunity to participate in the online-held Singapore International Model United Nations XVII (SIMUN XVII) in March 2022. Ten Delegates embarked on this new journey, discovering the ways of MUN and the intricacies of the activity. Prepared and accompanied by Directors Mr. Xavier and Ms. Amach, they interacted and worked with their Committees from classrooms allocated by the LFS. The Delegates learnt and enjoyed their experience with other participants (mostly from Singapore), as the International French School of Singapore (IFS) hosted the conference.
This interesting experience sparked interest for MUN within the LFS and became the starting point of a new journey !
