Greetings delegates,

I’m Emma, a student of LFRD in Phnom Penh, and I’ll be serving as this year’s Head Chair of ECOSOC for the IVth edition of LFSMUN. 

With this beeing my 7th conference and 1st as chair, I understand the stress events like these can cause on some and invite all to contact me if need be.

I hope to create a welcoming and dynamic enough ambiance amongst the delegates so they can tackle the ECOSOC issue to the best of their abilities.

Welcome to this session of the Economic and Social Council. Today, we gather to address the profound challenges and opportunities posed by artificial intelligence automation and its impact on the future of employment.

This is my third Model United Nations, and my first serving as a chair. I began my MUN journey as a silent delegate, hesitant to raise my voice. Yet by my second conference, I found the courage to speak out and was honored with the Most Passionate Delegate award. That experience taught me that progress comes from stepping forward, even when it feels daunting.

I share this with you because I know how it feels to be unsure, and I also know the reward of growth when you take that step. As your Deputy Chair, I encourage you to ask for help, to trust in the process, and to believe in your own ability to contribute meaningfully. Every voice matters in this room, and every delegate has the potential to shape our debate.

The future of work is being written today — let us write it together, with equity and courage. I look forward to the dialogue and resolutions that will emerge from your efforts.
