1. “What Is Explication?”

2. Model passage annotations

4. Students will preview the passages they could possibly annotate and pick one passage.

5. Students will pick a hard copy of the passage they want to do their explication on. They can pick from any of the four passages printed out on the red table. They should only take one to annotate.

6. Students should spend the rest of the class annotating their passages.

Finish annotating your chosen piece.
