Oct 4 (A)

1. Make sure SAT essay revisions are complete and turned in.

2. Read

3. Read How to Read Lit like a Professor "It's all Greek to Me"

  • Why do we need to know about mythology?

4. Narrative focus: Zooming in and zooming out

  • Go over dialogue rules and how to write good dialogue
  • Sample writing: zoomed out vs zoomed in (Mrs. Gilliam models with Zeus)
  • Read your version of the story "zoomed out" (If you have two people, you get to pick one.)
          • Hera and Aphrodite (Noelle, Olivia)
          • Hades (Luke, Kaden)
          • Athena and Artemis(Yessica, Sydney)
          • Apollo (Tagan, Andrew)
          • Hephaestus (Chris, Noah)
          • Hestia or Ares (Michael, Jada)
          • Hermes (Arie, Jackson)
          • Poseidon(Parker, Jhmari, Dylan)
  • Then, rewrite the story for us by "zooming in" and establishing more of a narrative. Give the story a setting. Give the story more dialogue. Then, be able to tell us the story in a captivating way.
