The basics of rhetoric: Reading and analyzing how rhetorical devices are used.

• Read Chapter 4 in The Culture Code to analyze how the author uses structure and rhetorical devices to persuade the audience.
• After you read the chapter, summarize it in your groups (this is harder than you think).
• Then, analyze which rhetorical strategy is most persuasive to his argument.
• Look at Mrs. Gilliam's model for a paragraph
• Write a paragraph analyzing how Coyle uses persuasive, rhetorical strategies to persuade the audience.
