Grade 10 Math

When students enroll in Grade 10 they will either choose Math 10C or Math 10-3. Students should have a mark above 60% to enroll in Math 10C.

Students with a grade below 50 will automatically be placed in math 10-3.

Students may also enroll in Math/CTS 10-3 & 20-3. This is a full-year course intended for students who express an interest in trades and apprenticeship programs. Students will receive all of their required Math credits in addition to CTS credits.

Students who struggled to get a grade of 60% or above should enroll in Math 10CX which is a full-year course. Math 10CX combines the traditional Math 10C course with the Math 15 competencies course, giving students a full year to build skills and be successful. They will receive 10 credits.

It is recommended that students have a mark above 80% to enroll in Math 10C AP. Math 10C AP will cover certain curricular outcomes pulled down from the Math 20-1 Program of Studies.

Students who are successful in Math 10C can follow either the -1 or the -2 route, depending on their post-secondary plans. Both streams are academic. -1 is for programs such as Engineering, Kinesiology, the Sciences, some business programs, some Psychology programs. -2 is for programs such as Nursing, and everything else!
