Academics

It is essential that students are placed in the correct stream based on their grade 9 marks. It is also advisable that students are placed in the correct stream within their program.

For example, students shouldn't be in a mix of -1 (academic) and -4 (K & E) courses. Counselors and DLCTs will recommend a program based on student codes and learning needs and courses will be selected based on that.

Advanced Placement

The Advanced Placement (AP) Program gives students the opportunity to enter a universe of knowledge that might otherwise remain unexplored in high school. The AP program provides access to quality education, accelerates learning and rewards academic excellence.

AP provides opportunities for motivated and prepared students to experience college-level courses while in high school, thereby fostering critical thinking and college persistence and success. Through AP exams, you have the opportunity to earn credits or advanced standing at many colleges and universities. AP is currently offered in English, Art, Math and in the Sciences.
