The LDMS chapter of the National Junior Honor Society has received a Chapter Award in Service. Only 106 NJHS Chapters across the nation received the Service Award of Excellence. 13 out of the 106 awards were given to NJHS chapters in Texas.
Kylee Salmons, LDHS Senior, had her artwork entitled "Deliberation" chosen to be shown at the TAEA Art Exhibition during txEDCON in Houston, TX from September 11–14, 2025.

Each month, we recognize a teacher and employee of the month from each campus and district department! The Board takes time to recognize these individuals during the meeting.
LDISD Administration also presented updates on the following:
Lake Dallas ISD created and implemented a Pre-K 3 program and expanded the existing Pre-K 4 program for the 2025-26 school year. Elementary campus principals who lead these programs provided an update on progress related to academic, social-emotional, and developmental milestones.
Deputy Superintendent Kelly O'Sullivan and campus principals presented the annual evaluation of the LDISD Bilingual ESL Program.
The board also reviewed and acted on several other items, approving the following with unanimous passing votes of 6-0.

Approval to purchase SLAC recommended library materials
The School Library Advisory Council (SLAC) was established under Senate Bill 13 to recommend procedures for acquiring school library materials. The council is composed primarily of parents, as well as community members and district staff. School boards have final approval over material acquisition after reviewing SLAC recommendations.
