A group of students of 4 students from Corinth Elementary were recognized for their service on the Corinth Elementary Student Advisory Council. This council brings together student leaders from across the district to share their ideas, perspectives, and experiences directly with our superintendent. Throughout the year, they participate in structured conversations that help inform decisions, strengthen programs, and improve the overall student experience in our schools.

In October, over 1,300 students from school districts across North Texas auditioned for placement in to the All-Region Band. 5 members of the Lake Dallas Middle School band earned this placement, and performed with the All-Region Band on December 13. Congratulations to the following musicians!

The cast and crew of the Lake Dallas Middle School One Act Play, Pinnochio Commedia by Johnny Simons, recently placed 3rd in their area competition. 3 members of the cast and crew also earned individual recognitions.

The LDHS Student Athletic Trainers won the campus contest between the various clubs and organizations on who can bring in the most donations for the Lake Cities Fall Food Drive! The Athletic Trainers collected just shy of 8,500 items! The top donors from the team were:

The second place team, the LDHS Fire Academy, collected almost 5,500 items, bringing total donations between just these two teams to approximately 14,000 items!
The Lake Dallas Middle School Counselors are the recipients of the CREST Award! This statewide honor, presented by the Texas School Counselor Association, is awarded to counseling programs that demonstrate exceptional leadership, advocacy, and data-driven support for students. We are excited to celebrate their work and the impact they have on the LDMS campus.
Each month, we recognize a teacher and employee of the month from each campus and district department! The Board takes time to recognize these individuals during the meeting.

Deputy Superintendent Dr. Kelly O'Sullivan presented an update on Strategic Priority 2: Faculty and Staff Engagement, as it pertains to the district's progress in the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) program. The TIA was established by House Bill 3 to recognize effective teachers and generate additional teacher-focused allotment funding based on a local designation system created by the school district and approved by the Texas Education Agency.
