The Lake Dallas High School Falcon Band was recognized for their success across their competitive marching season this fall.
They received all "Superior" 1st Division Ratings at the UIL Region Contest, and advanced to the Area B Contest at the end of October.
Band Director Mikaela Pyle, along with Drum Majors Ethan Glowney and Esther Kitamura attended the meeting to accept this recognition in honor of the band!
We recognized the amazing students who won the annual Lake Cities Fire Department Fire Safety Contests!
2nd and 5th grade students were challenged to demonstrate what they learned about safe usage of lithium ion batteries in the home after their annual safety visit from LCFD.

A group of students of 5 students from Lake Dallas Elementary was recognized for their service on the Lake Dallas Elementary Student Advisory Council. This council brings together student leaders from across the district to share their ideas, perspectives, and experiences directly with our superintendent. Throughout the year, they participate in structured conversations that help inform decisions, strengthen programs, and improve the overall student experience in our schools.

For the last several years, the Shady Shores Elementary annual yearbook has been adorned with student created art on the cover! We recognized this year's winning artists for their creativity and accomplishment.

12 members of the Lake Dallas Middle School Choir earned spots in the TMEA All Region Choir. They performed at Dallas Baptist University for the All Region Choir performance on November 3!
Lake Dallas High School FFA was well represented at the State Fair of Texas and heart of Texas Fair shows! At the State Fair of Texas, Tatum Harding won Reserve Supreme Champion and Hampshire Reserve Breed Champion in the Junior Breeding Gilt Show, and Ruby Jackson had the Champion Chester Breeding Gilt in the Pan Am Breeding Gilt Show. Tatum's success continued at the Heart of Texas Breeding Gilt Show where she won 4th Place Overall Showman and Reserve Champion Senior Showman.
Congratulations to Lake Dallas Middle School for earning a Superior rating in the Contrasting Monologue category at the Texas Thespian Junior Festival—an achievement that qualifies LDMS for the International Thespian Society’s national event in Indiana this summer.
Each month, we recognize a teacher and employee of the month from each campus and district department! The Board takes time to recognize these individuals during the meeting.
LDISD Administration also presented updates on the following:
A public hearing was held during the course of the meeting to present the district's Financial Integrity Rating System (FIRST) Report for the 2024-2025 School Year. The district received a Superior Rating, the highest possible rating, obtain 92 out of 100 available points.
Lake Cities Education Foundation President Jerry Blazewicz , Vice President of Scholarships and Grants Tina Hicks and Executive Director Karla Landrum presented Lake Dallas ISD with a check for $57,000 to support Innovative Teacher Grants across the district.
Director of Student Initiatives Denise Kennedy presented an update on Strategic Priority 3- Parent and Family/Community Engagement, overviewing the numerous family and community events hosted so far this school year. To date, the campuses and district have hosted more than 60 family and community events, with the help of 1,000 parent volunteers and over 20 student organizations.
