Teachers across the LAB have been continuing to track engagement in lessons for all students. The Airy college team is extremely proud of all of our students, particularly with the phenomenal resilience and scholarship our students have demonstrated in these first four weeks. Please do check out some of our students excellent examples of work on the subject pages. This is just a sample of the wonderful effort, and subsequent progress, our students are making.
Engagement in Airy continues to be high and we have seen improvements in the number of our students that are engaging in 100% of lessons throughout the week. We are proud to share that, this week, the students named below have been recognised for their outstanding commitment and efforts with their online learning: These individuals have received a certificate of scholarship (that awards each student 3 merits), congratulation emails and a text message home from Mrs Lindars, Head of College.
A huge well done to all!

Despite the challenges presented by remote learning, tutors have been nominating their Airy Student of the week. Students who have consistently demonstrated the LAB values of Ambition, Integrity, Resilience, Scholarship and Respect are celebrated and recognised by our college community. The wider Airy college team have then voted for the winning student.
Each student has received additional LAB Ambassador merits. The winning student receives a phone call home and is awarded a certificate and a student of the week badge that we are encouraging students to wear on their blazers!
Reed's work during remote learning has been excellent. He has been very consistent in making sure he does all the work, following exact teacher guidance and completing it in the best standards possible.
Jacob has been a great communicator while remote learning with both myself and his subject teachers to ensure his engagement is tracked and his work is completed to a high standard.
Shai has found some remote working hard, but has risen to the challenge. She is engaging with her subjects and reaching out to teachers when she needs to. She has show excellent resilience and ambition!
Chloe has shown resilience and scholarship by consistently engaging in all her classes during lockdown. She seeks help when she needs it which shows she is extremely conscientious and is continually trying to improve. Well done, Chloe!

Your Airy college team is here to support you if you are having any difficulties with your online learning or if you are finding things difficult at the moment. You are welcome to contact us. This week we have asked students to complete our LAB wellbeing survey. This is to allow our pastoral teams know more about how we can support our students during this time. Please also check out our wellbeing page with some fantastic links to organisations, activities and suggestions to keep us all happy and healthy at this time. For any students wanting something extra to do during this period of lockdown, please do not forget to check out our LAB Explore pages for detail of competitions, tours and events that you can enjoy.
We are all looking forward to seeing you back in the physical classroom very soon. In the meantime, please remember to ensure students are logging into the Google meetings for P1 register and always sharing their work with their teachers at the end of each lesson.
Take care and be kind.
