Our main focus this term has been on promoting the wellbeing of our students through various initiatives for transition. Our PSHE programme has provided valuable lessons on personal development, health, and social skills, helping students navigate their emotions and relationships effectively, especially as they move into different year groups.
To support Year 6 students with their significant transition to secondary school, we introduced Kooth, an online counselling and emotional well-being platform, ensuring they have access to professional support during this crucial period. Additionally, ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) sessions have been conducted to offer personalised emotional support, helping students manage their feelings and build resilience. As usual, we have many assemblies and curriculum time that remind the children of the five ways to well-being and our all important ‘Choose to be Kind’ strategy. Together, these efforts aim to create a supportive and nurturing environment for all our students.
