"Determined, Persistent Achievers - learning to change the world"

End of Term Newsletter

19th July 2024

Principal's Welcome

Dear Parents and Carers,

Academic year 2023-24 has been a BLAST!!

We kicked it off with an exceptional visit from Ofsted who stated if we had been part of a ‘Graded inspection’ - we would have been given an ‘outstanding’ judgement.  Sadly, we were part of an ‘Ungraded inspection’ so we look forward to their return during 2024- 25 to show just how special our DPA community is!

We have ended the year with our ‘Big Annual Trips’, we have explored beaches, zoos, the Science museum, tried new careers, been challenged by troopers, slept out in tents and enjoyed our annual year 6 festival. We have travelled the world in our classes - made Sushi, had a Teddy bears picnic…. The events go on!  We have sung, celebrated and our children have continually shown themselves to be determined, persistent achievers.

Our children have explored rich and diverse units of inquiry: they have made outstanding pieces of Art and creative DT pieces.  We have held a Viking feast with food made and prepared like the Vikings.  Throughout the year, each year group has raised money for local, national and global charities. Our children are making a difference and I am incredibly proud to lead such an inspirational community.

Once again we end the term here at DPA by creating history!  We finish off with a wonderful and an absolutely incredible set of results for our children - who show every day they are determined, persistent achievers.  I am incredibly proud to share that this year, our year 6 children have smashed the school results and the national results!  They have re-written the history books by achieving 97% combined in Reading, Writing & Maths!  Smashing the national attainment of 61%.

I hope as parents you join me in celebrating the success of our children here at DPA.  I truly believe our children have access to an outstanding education and as we get stronger many other opportunities are being created to ensure Dartford Primary leaves memories of fondness and a world full of possibilities for every child.

Please join me in thanking all of the staff here at DPA for their unwavering commitment and dedication in ensuring that our children shine.  We shine brighter together!

I wish you all a peaceful and fun summer break!  I look forward to seeing you all on Monday 2nd  September!  When we officially open our doors rebranded as Leigh Academy Dartford set and ready for what next year brings!
