As we reach the end of the school academic year, it is time for the Little Birds to spread their wings and fly on to join their new reception year. They have learnt so much and developed in many ways; the nursery practitioners are so proud of them.
Here are some examples of our achievements:
Personal, social and emotional development :
Caring for each other and being kind.
Understanding of the world:
Caring for the living things, the plants and flowers in the garden as well as the chicks that the children observed hatching.
Literacy/Reading: Enjoying the love of books and stories, sharing them with others.
Literacy: Writing for a purpose using real letters.
Expressive arts and design:
Building with a purpose in mind using Duplo bricks. Making our own music using a variety of everyday resources. Painting representations using different colours and tools.
Playing imaginatively in the environment and taking on different roles.
Mathematics:
Making different ways of five and understanding number bonds. Counting from 1-5 and beyond. Using language for capacity.
Physical development:
Confidently climbing the frame and moving outdoors in different ways. Operating and handling scissors safely, when cutting many materials.
We hope you have enjoyed our weekly blogs this year!
We wish you all the best as you head off for the summer break and join the Reception. We look forward to seeing you flourish in September 2024.
From the Nursery Team.
