Clubs
This term has been buzzing with excitement as a host of new clubs have sprung to life, enriching our after-school and lunchtime activities. Students have eagerly embraced these opportunities, leading to impressive participation across the board. From the Ultimate Frisbee Club, where future sporting heroes hone their coordination skills, to the Art Club, where creativity flows freely, there is something for everyone. The enthusiasm and commitment shown by our students and adults have made these clubs a resounding success, fostering a vibrant and engaging school community. We are looking forward to hosting many more exciting opportunities for our children next year, so please sign up and join in the buzz.
Sporting Events
Taking children to a variety of sporting events is a true highlight at DPA and significantly impacts their personal development. These experiences not only foster physical fitness and teamwork but also build confidence, resilience, and social skills. By participating in different sports, children learn the value of discipline, perseverance, and healthy competition, contributing to their overall growth and well-being.
This term has been packed with exciting sporting events which showcased the incredible talent and enthusiasm of our students. The trust athletics competition saw students pushing their limits in track and field events, demonstrating remarkable speed, strength, and endurance. The Infant Agility program was a delight, as our youngest participants exhibited impressive coordination and energy in a series of fun and challenging activities. Sports Days were a particular highlight, with everyone participating in a variety of games and races, fostering team spirit and friendly competition. We even took part in a cricket festival, with our team displaying excellent sportsmanship and skill, making for some truly memorable games. As you can see, it's been a fantastic term for sports, and we're proud of all our students for their dedication and effort.
JASS awards
This term saw the culmination of the children’s hard work on their JASS awards. The JASS awards is a junior version of the Duke of Edinburgh’s award scheme, which involves taking part in sports, hobbies, community service and adventurous activities. In June, all of the children involved in this year’s trial of the awards scheme had the opportunity to take part in archery on the school field. The children had a brilliant time and many of them said it gave them greater confidence that they can tackle new challenges in the future.
At the end of term, we had the pleasure of celebrating the children’s achievements and efforts at a special award ceremony for those who managed to complete their whole award. The children showcased some of the skills and confidence that they have developed by sharing their experiences and one participant treated us to a beautiful piano recital. Congratulations to all of our JASS award recipients!
