There is also time to conference with the teacher about their other classes with a focus on grades and the relationships and interactions with the teachers. When time permits students can work on current, missing, and extra credit assignments from the students' other classes. Academic Skills Lab is often scheduled during 4AB, providing students with the opportunity to check their email, check Powerschool, and review their due dates at the end of each school day. Academic Skills Lab is a course open to Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors that counts for a practical arts .5 credit. Students may only take Academic Skills Lab once while at LAHS. Because Academic Skills Lab is a tier 2 intervention course, students may not self-select Academic Skills Lab during course selection; enrollment in Academic Skills Lab is based on counselor recommendation.
